Fiberglass Mat Solution

1. Fiberglass chopped strand mat 

After continuous fiberglass strands are cut into a certain length (generally 50MM), they are uniformly distributed without direction and bonded with a binder to form a fiberglass chopped strand mat. It is suitable for the production of hand lay-up or molded FRP products and is widely used in various products such as automobiles, ship hulls, sanitary wares, electrical insulators, anti-corrosion products, and pipelines. 

2. Difference between powder chopped strand mat and emulsion chopped strand mat

According to the type of binder used, fiberglass chopped strand mat is classified into emulsion chopped strand mat and powder chopped strand mat. The powder-chopped strand mat is bonded with a polyester binder, which has good wettability; the emulsion-chopped strand mat is bonded with an emulsion binder, and the surface is flat and smooth.

The powder fiberglass chopped strand mat is fluffy and soft and can be dipped fast. For the manufacture of FRP molds, because the powder chopped strand mat is soft, it is easier to stick to the surface of the original mold, such as some corners or deep positions, thus avoiding repeated bounce of chopped strand mat,fluffiness, bubbles and other problems. 

The emulsion chopped strand mat is flat and smooth, with high emulsion content and good film sticking properties, and the glass strands will not fall off.
